Curation for Longevity ๐งฌ๐ - 17 - Optimizing Testosterone, Bristle, Fog of War
Hello again ๐ This is Curation for Longevity ๐งฌ๐ by Laura Minquini. I am the founder ofย MYKIGAIย - a discovery and recommendation platform for longevity.
Our Longevity ToolKits are prepared by our Geroscientist, Girish Harinath.
Today we want to explain each of the sections of our newsletter. Much like any publication, there is a menu where you can access different content and features:
Longevity Lifestyle with MYKIGAI
This is the main publication name under which we publish Curation for Longevity ๐งฌ๐; our insights in the longevity industry focused on a general audience and consumer perspective. This is where I like to trend forecast or go off on friendly rants about why longevity is the only thing that can truly disrupt aging.
Longevity Toolkits ๐งฌ๐งฐ
This is our library of checklists and protocols for better health. These are uploaded on Wednesdays and Saturdays and prepared by our Geoscientist, Girish Harinath. We donโt send emails to not spam you, but always feel free to access them at your leisure. Read our latest: Part 1 of Optimizing Testosterone.
Longevity Drop ๐งฌ๐ง
This is the section where we are listing our curation of evidence-based brands in preventive health. Look out for all the amazing companies in biotech and longevity we support, as we list them over the next little while.
We launched this section with Bristle, an oral hygiene brand, which is perfect as you can read below, our mouths are our gateways to our bodies, and so we started with the starting point to your health.
Tagline: Stop guessing and start measuring your oral health.
Mission: โOur vision is a new kind of care that prioritizes preventing disease instead of reactively treating it - oral health made for you, delivered to you, and owned by you.โ
Why we think they are a longevity brand:ย Their mission is rooted in preventive health which is aligned with everything we think is important to age healthier. Did you know that periodontal disease is a common inflammatory disease affecting up to 50% of the adult population? As Bristle stated on their site: โOur mouths are gateways to the rest of our bodiesโso oral health plays a large role in reducing our risk for other diseases.โ Think cancer, cognitive decline, and heart disease prevention via your mouth.
All my serious longevity enthusiasts friends - the type that takes 30 supplements a day and tests non-prescribed drugs like Rapamycin - floss their teeth multiple times a day. Your oral health unlocks longevity.ย
Notable: The team is alumni of Y Combinator, companies like Airbnb came out of this prestigious startup accelerator, so they are just getting started.
Our special offer ended but you can still get 15% off anytime you use the code: MYKIGAI!

The Fog of War
War is the opposite thing that could help anyoneโs longevity. As someone said on Twitter, I canโt remember who to tag them, and I am paraphrasing: some still talking about longevity while thereโs a war raging seems incongruous.
I know a lot of us have this feeling, but if anything, I hope it brings an appreciation and thirst for more life.
Speaking of war, you might have read or heard about how it is considered a major win that companies like Pepsi, Coca-Cola, McDonaldโs, and other such (junk) food brands are stopping business in Russia.
We want to remind you that limited consumption or none at all - of these products - is actually good for health and longevity. So yeah, we are in a fog of war, please donโt get patriotic and start drinking or eating more.
